This is an impromptu fast. I’m not sure how long it’ll be, but I have my Zero App set for 48 hours. I would like to go at least 72, but no less than 24 hours.
I’ve been drinking a few beers the last couple of days. That’s not that bad, what’s bad is the tortilla chips. That is so horrible for me, so very very bad. It makes me feel sick as a dog, and when I feel sick I have to fast to get it out of me and reset my system.
I decided to use a quit app called https://iamsober.com/ to keep track of the drinking and plan on quitting for 100 days at a minimum, it would be nice to quit for a year or more. I’m not a big drinker, but it sure can derail me. Beer is fine, the chips and junk food I have to eat with it isn’t. I think it’s the carbs, lead to more carbs, etc.
I’m heading towards a total health kick.
I have the fitbod app for workouts and tracking. I love that app, so nice to find something that works so well. I’ve been using another one for years, which is also really cool, but having something that generates my workouts for me is so nice because I’m not a coach or anything.
Another tracker I have is the Fitbit. I really like that it keeps track of sleep and steps the most. I have the Charge 3. I think when it breaks I might try something different, maybe Apple, but not sure right now. I like that I can keep track of my calories using the Fitbit app, which I’m not doing for this month.
I’m also using Elite HRV. I have the sensor, but I can never seem to get it to work well for me so I use a polar 10 strap. I like it because it works well with the Concept 2 rower, I have the D model. I’m not as lazy when I wear it when row. Wow, they sure have some nice rowers now, mine’s old.
I keep coming across the Snake Diet. I mention it because of the electrolytes. I have my own mix of electrolytes, but if you are going to do a fast for longer than 24 hours, you might want to make some up to sip on.
Another thing I like is the sauna. I picked up one from Costco a few years ago. I think it really helps. They don’t have the one I use, but this one is pretty close. https://www.costco.com/dynamic-santiago-2-person-low-emf-far-infrared-sauna.product.100520495.html
I think the stress is finally ebbing and things are getting more into a routine. It was kind of hard going around here for a while.
If I stay consistent for the next few months I should really be able to get a good gauge of health improvements.
I’m also tracking, glucose, ketones, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight. I need an app that records all of these, I have them spread out over a few apps. Maybe I should look into the Apple Health App and hook my Fitbit into it, and get an Apple watch for Christmas.
